SNOW CANCELLATION/DELAY/EARLY RELEASE
The safety of the students has always been the first concern when bus company and school officials make the decision to close or delay school. The bus company manager consults with the school superintendent and they review all weather and road information available. The decision is based on reports from the Highway Department, Sheriff’s Department, National Weather Service, local area road spotters, networking with area school superintendents and other bus companies. Weather is monitored throughout the night and an early morning decision is usually made before 6:30 a.m. Remember that if school is not called off, but parents think it should be, parents have the option to keep their children home or pick them up early and they will be given a fully excused absence. Buses are operated by an experienced and safety conscious crew of drivers. All buses have two-way radios and spare buses are available to send out in case a bus should stall, get stuck or break down. When school is closed, all school activities will be cancelled for that day and evening unless exceptions are announced. Snow makeup days are listed on your yearly school calendar.
