School Counseling Services
The Wrightstown School District School Counseling Program is an integral part of the primary educational mission of the district. This program supports, facilitates and encourages classroom instruction and student achievement. Our school counseling program is proactive and preventive. It assists students in acquiring and using life-long learning skills. More specifically, our school counseling program employs strategies to enhance academics, encourage self-awareness, foster interpersonal communication skills, provide career awareness, develop employment readiness, and impart life skills for all students.
Mission Statement: The Mission of the Wrightstown Community School District Counseling Department is to provide a pro-active, comprehensive, and developmentally appropriate continuum of services to teach, support, and develop students' academic and career goals as well as social and emotional development. Supporting the whole child, including students' personal, social and emotional needs, is accomplished through a partnership with parents/guardians, staff, and community members to enable the whole child to become productive and responsible members of society.
Vision Statement: The Wrightstown Community School District Counseling Services will aim to help all students reach their full potential by using a comprehensive program that addresses academic, personal/social, and career goals. School counselors believe that every student can succeed through the collaborative efforts of school, home, and community.
Beliefs:
- All children are unique and should be treated with respect and dignity.
- Every student can succeed.
- Learning is a life-long process.
- Providing solution-focused brief school counseling that is student-centered is different than individual or family therapy in the mental health setting.
- Fostering a positive self-image is the collaborative effort of school, home, and community which leads to responsible and productive citizenship.
- Comprehensive, developmental school counseling services are an integral part of the total education program.

Services: When there is a need for a student, a Wrightstown School District Counselor or School Psychologist will assess student needs, identify the concern, and collaborate with the student to select a goal to work towards. If a need is identified, brief school counseling will be initiated to work towards the goal identified, will be solution-focused, and short-term. This practice allows for school counselors to reach all students in the diverse ways that are needed.
