Alexis I think your review on the squire's tale was pretty good. I think it could have been a little longer but I like how you put your own feelings into it, instead of just reviewing how the characters are feeling or felt. I think you should try to put a little more detail into your reviews so we know what is really going on in the tale at this time. I enjoyed your review though and I thought you did a good job mabey just double check your spelling and capitalize when needed. |

Alexis - You NEED to proofread your responses. In your second post, I want you to include some specific examples from the text (quotes, etc.) that back up your point. |

I think that they are making fun of the squire because he thinks that he is better than everyone else and thinks that he knows everything there is to
know about everything even tho he can be a very nice guy sometimes he can still be a jerk. He is a very hansome man to all of the girls but like i
said he can still be very mean to them. |

Modern critics consider this tale to be Chaucer's way of poking gentle fun at the young Squire's love of romance literature, frequent and somewhat pretentious digressions, and lack of narrative self-control. Do you agree? Why or why not? Is he satirizing the squire or something else? Be sure to include examples from the text to back up your answer. |
