Wrightstown Community School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Wrightstown Elementary School for the 2024/2025 school year. The individual will join a strong special education team focused on meeting the educational needs of students with various disabilities. The primary responsibilities for this cross-categorical position include developing and delivering specialized instruction, supporting students in meeting their IEP goals, assisting with emotional and behavioral regulation, helping students access and thrive in their regular education classrooms and curriculum, and achieving at their highest level.
The candidate must currently hold one of the WI DPI Special Education Teacher licenses, be eligible to apply, or be willing to pursue the requirements for this license. The candidate must have knowledge and skills in implementing best practices for working with students with disabilities, effective consultation and collaboration with others, and a solid instructional background. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about effective instructional planning and delivery, closing academic gaps, supporting positive behavior, and focusing on what's best for students. The ideal candidate for this position will be knowledgeable or willing to learn and incorporate trauma-sensitive learning, effective instructional strategies, and emotional regulation techniques into school practices.
