Star Early Literacy, Reading, and Math Assessment
The Star Assessments by Renaissance are computer-adaptive assessments that will provide
teachers with current, reliable, and valid data quickly so they can target instruction, monitor progress,
provide students with appropriate instructional materials, and intervene with at-risk students. This
system of assessments along with the use of Fastbridge Progressing Monitoring will be used not only
to inform data-based decisions but to support the instructional framework of Response to Intervention
(RtI). The data will allow for targeted intervention lesson ideas linked to diagnostic data and designed
to address student areas of growth in mathematics and reading. The Star Assessments also meet the
Reading Readiness requirements through the state, align with the Common Core State Standards as
well as align with the Wisconsin Forward Exam. Students in grades 1-8 take the Star Assessment in
both the areas of Reading and Math.
