Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate in a maximum of 3 Display Competitions and 1 Live Competition. To apply for the Thomas H. Lutsey-Waseda Farms Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Students can apply if they plan on attending a 2-year technical school first to then transfer to a 4-year program as a full-time student
  • Pursuing a career with an agriculture focus that will enhance rural communities

  • Minimum 19 ACT composite score

This one application is submitted online by the student to be considered for several scholarships.  It must be submitted, in it's entirety including references, by the April 2nd deadline.  You must check your application status online to ensure everything is completed prior to April 2nd at 2pm.

To be eligible, students must attend an accredited 4 yr college or university, or a technical college, and attend as a full-time student (12 credits or more).

  1. Recipients are selected on the basis of:
    • Financial need as established by the Student Aid Report, which is generated by filing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid: https://fafsa.ed.gov/).
    • Academic achievement based on GPA, course rigor, and standardized test scores (as reported by applicant and high school counselor).
    • Extracurricular activity, volunteer activity, and leadership, as detailed by a resume that includes number of HOURS you participated.
    • Demonstrated academic motivation, personal growth, initiative and perseverance.
    • Two creative essays (view 2016's essay questions here). Answering the optional essay question may allow you to be considered for other awards.
    • Quality of character as described by one school-related reference.
    • Must be enrolled to attend college in the fall on a full-time basis (12 credits/semester). 
  2. The application must be 100% complete and submitted by the student through our online scholarship application. Requirements:

The Van Schyndel family is offering a scholarship in memory of their son, Jacob Van Schyndel.  Jacob battled numerous health issues throughout his life that limited his ability to participate in sports and other activities the way he had wished.  Even though he was limited, he did not let his limitations stop him.  He was a football and wrestling manager throughout his high school career and was a positive, upbeat, young man who was an inspiration to many.  This scholarship is a way to recognize a Wrightstown High School senior who exhibits these characteristics that Jacob was so well known for.

Educational Requirements
